About 130 people attended the celebration at Maxwell's Thursday night.
A cross selection of New Jersey's young Jewish adults danced the night away at Maxwell's on Thursday, as they celebrated Israel's independence day. The evening, which was co-sponsored by the Jersey Tribe, a Jewish organization for young adults in New Jersey.
"I think it's fantastic," said Rebecca Missel, founder of the Jersey Tribe. For a lot of the people in attendance, Missel said, "this is really the only way that they're going to celebrate Israel."
The main event of the night was a performance by the Shuk, an Israeli folk band, which had the crowd on their feet and dancing to the music.
