Man Assaulted in Hoboken Bar by Five Unknown Persons

Around 1:30 a.m. on Friday, a 29-year-old Staten Island man was the victim of an aggravated assault in downtown Hoboken bar, police said.

The man told police he was inside the bar for five minutes when he felt a punch with a closed fist in the back of his head, police said. At that point, the victim told police according to the report, as many as five people began to strike him as well.

A bartender witnessing the incident broke it up, and the victim drove to his girlfriend's house in Jersey City, police said. A few hours later, around 4 a.m., he reported the incident to police at headquarters, according to the report.

The victim told police he had a guess about who the actors were, but no arrests were made, according to reports.
