Man Charged For Stealing Wallets At Venue In Downtown Hoboken, Police Say
A North Bergen man was charged with theft and brought to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, police in Hoboken said.
HOBOKEN, NJ — A North Bergen man has been charged in connection with stealing wallets in Hoboken in separate incidents earlier this year, police said.
Michael Valdes, 39, was brought to Hoboken Police Headquarters by North Bergen police on Oct. 7 because the city had an open warrant for him for unlawful use of credit cards, conspiracy to use credit cards, and receiving stolen property, police said.
Police said, "The charges stem from two incidents of wallets being stolen from River Street Garage, 80 River St., in February and April of 2024. A follow-up investigation led by Police Officer Daniel Grossi identified Valdes as the actor in that case. He was also found to have multiple warrants from Secaucus and one from Clifton."
