Meetings About Hoboken PATH Train Station Closure To Be Held Tuesday, Wednesday

HOBOKEN, NJ — The Port Authority will close the Hoboken PATH train station — a major commuter hub to Manhattan — from Jan. 31 through 5 a.m. on Feb. 25 for "significant track and station upgrades," said the agency last month.

Now they're holding hearings in Hoboken, Jersey City, and online to discuss the impending closure, and commuting alternatives.

The PATH (Port Authority Trans Hudson) trains bring thousands of commuters each day from the Hoboken and Jersey City waterfront to midtown Manhattan and the World Trade Center. Riders pay $2.75 each way.

Public information sessions will be held in Hoboken, Jersey City, and online on Nov. 12, Nov. 13, and Dec. 10, respectively.

The first meeting will take place in person at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the Hoboken Train Terminal, 1 Hudson Place.

Representatives from PATH and PANYNJ will be available to discuss the closure and travel alternatives.

Another in-person meeting will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 5:30 p.m. at 2 Montgomery St. in Jersey City.

A virtual public information session is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m.
