New Restaurant, Maxwell Alley, To Open In Downtown Jersey City

The owners of Cool Vines announced Saturday that they'll open a bar/restaurant in downtown Jersey City. Find out what they'll serve.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — The owners of the quirky Cool Vines liquor stores — with locations in Jersey City, Hoboken, and Newark — made a surprise announcement on Small Business Saturday saying they plan to open a bar/restaurant in downtown Jersey City early next year.

"We are excited to announce the future opening of Maxwell Alley, a new restaurant and bar in downtown Jersey City, at the intersection of Coles Street and Maxwell Alley (in the space f/k/a Gringos)," they said.

"From the team that brought you CoolVines in Jersey City, Lawrence Park Hudson in Hudson, NY and featuring Chef Alex Tronstad, formerly Head Chef at Rivertown Lodge in Hudson, NY."

What's on the menu? They wrote, "Featuring a seasonally inspired, often changing menu that incorporates methods and flavor influences from around the globe. Coupled with an inventive bar program and deep, yet accessible wine list."

They said interested parties can follow their progress at @maxwell_alley_jc. Renovations will be led by Tory Censits of Sometimes Metalworks and Daniel Dunn of Dunn & Done.
