Police Scanner: Dead Body Found Near Light Rail Station

A decomposed body was found about 200 feet west of the train tracks around 8th and Jackson Streets in Hoboken on Saturday evening, according to police radio reports.

The news came in over the scanner around 5:30 p.m.

Jersey City Police was on the scene, but declined to comment. A transit police car and several Jersey City Police cars were parked at 9th and Jackson Streets.

A press officer at the Hudson County Sherrif's office did not have any information about the case on Saturday evening.

The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office could not immediately be reached.
