HOBOKEN, NJ — Summer vacation has rolled to an end for the 3,029 students in the Hoboken public schools.
The first day of school is Thursday, Sept. 5. (Always check with the district for updates.)

Important Holidays And School Dates In Hoboken For 2024

Sept. 5, Thursday: First day of school for students.
Oct. 3, Thursday: Rosh Hashana, school closed.
Oct. 14: Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day, school closed.
Oct. 23: 1 p.m. dismissal for students.
Nov. 5, Tuesday: Election Day, school closed for students.
Nov. 7-8: Schools closed, teachers' union convention.
Nov. 27: 1 o'clock dismissal.
Nov. 28-29: Thanksgiving, schools closed.
Dec. 20: 1 o'clock dismissal.
Dec. 23-Jan. 1: Schools closed.
Jan. 2, 2025: Schools reopen.
