HOBOKEN, NJ — Hundreds of hungry Hobokenites again crowded the lower waterfront on Thursday to eat pasta dishes and listen to Sinatra tunes under a moonlit sky.

The Spaghetti Block Party Dinner started in 2005 as a celebration of Hoboken's 150th Anniversary. Each year, it allows residents to eat alongside neighbors and say goodbye to summer.

"The idea was to recreate a community event that took place in 1955 for the City’s 100th Anniversary," explains the city on its website, "a Spaghetti Dinner Block Party on Washington Sreet. It has been so popular that we continue this tradition with a similar event that takes place along the Hoboken waterfront, overlooking the Manhattan skyline."
