Stevens Institute Officially Welcomes New President

was inaugurated as Stevens Institute of Technology's seventh president on Friday afternoon, in front of hundreds of people.

Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno and Mayor Dawn Zimmer attended the ceremony as well.

Lawrence Babbio, chairman of the Stevens Board of Trustees, called Dr. Farvardin’s installation "a truly momentous occasion for Stevens as we install only the seventh president on Castle Point since the Institute was founded 141 years ago."

He added, "Dr. Farvardin’s presidency affirms the enduring traditions and core values that define us. He is an innovator and an entrepreneur, passionately committed to excellence in everything we do, from expanding our programmatic frontiers to seeking new arenas for our engagement and service."
