Summer Events Line Up

It seems that summer has officially arrived in the Mile Square. To celebrate, the city has announced a calendar of events for the upcoming months. While many may want to escape to the Jersey shore to lie on the beach (not a bad option, we know), there will be plenty to do in Hoboken.

A full list is below, as sent out by the city:

June 7 - Polka Dot aka Ron Albanese 

Ron brings along his POLKA DOT PALS! band for a music and comedy show like no other.

There's songs for everyone, costumes, props, special effects, and more!

June 14 - Erin Lee & the Up Past Bedtime Band 

June 21 - Astrograss

Offer a unique blend of bluegrass music and down-home humor. Astrograss concerts feature sing-a-longs, dance contests, and high-energy fiddle hoedowns. In 2006 they won the TimeOutNY Kids' Battle of the Bands contest at the Knitting Factory. Sponsored by The Hoboken Family Alliance.

June 28 - Mother Goose

Celebrating the rich imagery of familiar rhymes, songs, & stories, Mother Goose involves boys & girls ages 2 - 8 in a merry adventure through her fairy tale kingdom of crooked houses, singing black birds and Old King Cole. 

July 12 - The Hey Ya Brothers

The Hey-Ya Brothers is a two-man slapstick comedy variety show for the whole family created by clown and physical comedians Joel Jeske and Christopher Lueck.

July 19 - Yosi

July 26 - The Fuzzy Lemons

Get ready to jump, wiggle, and shake with the juiciest family-friendly rock band on the scene! With laugh-out-loud lyrics & memorable melodies, every song tells a story & every show is full of fun. Sponsored by Ben & Jerry's

Aug 2 - Music Together

An internationally recognized early childhood music and movement program for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and the adults who love them.  

Aug 9 - Big Jeff & the Bouncy People

Big Jeff” is the hardest-working six-foot-six-inch singer-songwriter in family music. His blend of humor, learning and “super-interactive” audience participation has been captivating young audiences across the New York Metropolitan area for the past ten years. 

Aug 16 - Starfish 

Starfish is a fun, hip, rockin', jammin' kids/family music band, born and based in Maplewood, NJ, that is currently taking over the world of family friendly entertainment market.

Aug 23 - Americana Family Jamboree

Acoustic music from the Great Americana Songbook springs to life in the strings and voices of this 4-piece band complete with upright bass, fiddle and banjo, as they perform rousing bluegrass, honky-tonk, folk songs and instrumentals. Singing along is encouraged. Fun for kids of all ages, safe for adults!
