Thanksgiving Pizza (With Stuffing) On Menu In NJ Area Restaurants: Would You Eat It?

Would you eat or serve 'Thanksgiving Pizza' with turkey, maple syrup, and marshmallows? New Jersey/New York area restaurants are trying it.

NORTH JERSEY, NJ — Tired of thawing, brining, and seasoning a 10-lb. turkey and want to instead serve pizza slices?

A number of restaurants in the New Jersey/New York area have debuted "Thanksgiving Pizzas" with the trimmings loaded onto a pie.

In fact, one inventive restaurant in Jersey City has debuted not one but two Thanksgiving Pizzas this year, one for dinner and one for dessert. They're available for dining in or takeout through this Wednesday night.

"The Table," a relatively new Jersey City restaurant that grows fresh ingredients on its roof, announced their pizza duo this month.

The pizzas are:

  • A Harvest Pizza with roasted Brussel sprouts, creamy goat cheese, crunchy pecans and sweet butternut squash.
  • A sweet dessert pizza with sweet potatoes, candied pecans, gooey marshmallows, and a drizzle of maple syrup and chocolate.

The restaurant is also offering a fall menu that includes a French Onion Pizza topped with green and yellow squash, mozzarella, caramelized onions, and crushed red pepper, and "apple pie French toast."

Over The River (And Through The Woods?)

Meanwhile, Krave It, which has three locations in the New York City area, has its own "Thanksgiving Pizza" through this Sunday.

If you're heading to see relatives in Bayside, Astoria, and Huntington, you can pick up a pie "topped with turkey breast, candied yams, marshmallows, cornbread stuffing, and drizzled in cranberry sauce and gravy," they say. More information is here.
