
A 20-year-old Union City man was arrested in Hoboken on Dec. 21, after he allegedly tried to rob a 43-year-old woman in the area of 8th Street and Park Avenue, according to police reports.
A little before 10 a.m., George Jackson was being chased down Ninth Street by a man holding a yellow drill in the area of Adams Street, according to the report. The man—who was still holding a yellow drill—told police that he saw Jackson trying to rob a woman of her purse, police said.
The 43-year-old woman told police she was walking on Park Avenue between Eighth and Ninth Streets with her white iPhone in her hand, according to the report. Jackson allegedly grabbed her phone from her hand and pushed her to the ground, allowing the woman to see his face and later positively identify him, police said.

After a struggle, the woman was able to free herself and started yelling for help, police said.
