Victim Dies In Motorcycle Hit-And-Run In Hudson County; New Charge For Westfield Man
A pedestrian injured in a hit-and-run in Hudson County a week ago has died, resulting in a new charge for a motorcycle operator.
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — The victim in a recent motorcycle hit-and-run crash in Hudson County has died, prosecutors said, resulting in additional charges for two men.
Angel Guzman-Morales, 54, of West New York, died after being hit by a motorcycle on the afternoon of Saturday, Aug. 17, in that town.
He was pronounced dead this past Saturday, Aug. 24, prosecutors said.

Samuel Collazo, 20, of Westfield was initially charged with knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle rash resulting in serious body injury and other charges. Now the charge has been upgraded to knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash resulting in death, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office on Monday.
Rylan Cook-Figueroa, 20, of West New York was charged with endangering an injured victim and other charges.

Both were arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 21, and are being held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending their first court appearances, prosecutors said.
After the crash, it was determined that the motorcycle had been reported stolen.
Collazo was identified as the operator of the vehicle and Cook-Figueroa was identified as the rear passenger, prosecutors said.
