Woman Arrested in Hoboken After Credit Card Theft

A woman spent nearly $7,000 with somebody else's credit card this weekend, according to police.

A 37-year-old woman from Roselle Park was arrested in Hoboken on Saturday after allegedly spending close to $7,000 on somebody else's credit card, police said.

Tasha Jacoby-Araujo was arrested at New Shining Nails a little before 10 a.m. on Saturday, by Hoboken police, according to the report on the matter. She was charged with identity theft and fraudulent use of a credit card, according to the police report.

The victim told police that her bank card was missing for multiple days, according to the report.

Jacoby-Araujo was identified by a surveillance video at Super Foods at Third and Jackson Streets, where she allegedly purchased several items around 8:45, according to the report.

In the black plastic bag that Jacoby-Araujo had with her—and allegedly purchased with the stolen credit card at Super Foods—police said they retrieved a pack of Newport cigarettes, one pack of Parliament cigarettes, a box of Trojan magnum condoms, a raspberry flavored Snapple Iced Tea, a deoderant stick and a green bic lighter, according to the police report.

According to the report, the total amount of stolen goods came down to $6,894.63.

Other purchases Jacoby-Araujo allegedly made include a Aug. 13 busticket to Binghamton, NY as well as several new items of clothing.
