2 Homes Burglarized By Hazlet Train Station On Wednesday

One resident saw someone in their yard who then ran away, police said.

HAZLET, NJ — Two homes were burglarized in Hazlet on Wednesday in the area close to the train station, according to the Hazlet Police Department.

One resident saw someone in their yard who then ran away, said Det. Michael Tristao.

Police believe that the same suspect also burglarized a second home in the area.

The burglaries happened between the hours of 5 and 9 p.m.

Police sent out an alert on Wednesday night urging residents to lock their doors and cars and warning that there would be a large police presence in the area.

The suspect has not been found. The only description that the police have is that that person was wearing a backpack and holding something that might have been a clipboard.
