MANALAPAN, NJ — Released by Manalapan police and unedited by Patch, all crimes and arrests from Sept. 8 to 14:
On Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at approximately 9:12 p.m., Manalapan patrols responded to the area of Samaritan Way, Manalapan, NJ for a report of a suspicious person. Further investigation revealed that Travis Schwerthoffer, a 26-year-old, unmarried, male resident of Freehold, who is employed as a server, had a warrant issued for his arrest by the Englishtown Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000. Mr. Schwerthoffer was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail. Patrolman Jeremy Slad was the arresting officer.
On Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at approximately 2:50 p.m., a 58-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor(s) filed an unemployment claim using their personal information. There was no monetary loss reported as a result of this incident. Patrolman Jeff Emslie handled the report.

On Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at approximately 2:20 p.m., John Ingrassia Jr., a 75-year-old married, retired, male resident of Monroe Township, turned himself into the Manalapan Township Police Department regarding a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Englishtown Borough Municipal Court in the amount of $750. Mr. Ingrassa, Jr. was processed and released after posting bail. Patrolman Jeff Emslie was the arresting officer.
On Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at approximately 2:10 p.m., a 50-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor(s) unlawfully cashed several bank checks totaling $9,395. Patrolman Kevin Ruditsky took the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at approximately 1:20 p.m., a 71-year-old Manalapan resident reported that on September 6, 2021, an unknown actor attempted to make a $55 online purchase using the victim’s credit card. No monetary loss was reported as a result of this incident. Patrolman Ross Dessel handled the report.
On Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at 9:36 a.m., a 32-year-old Manalapan resident reported that they were a victim of an online fraud. No monetary loss was reported as a result of this incident. Patrolman Anthony Cascella handled the report.
On Sunday, September 12, 2021, at approximately 1:42 p.m., Patrolman Morgan Joiner responded to the Englishtown Flea Market, located at 90 Wilson Avenue in Manalapan, for a report of a physical altercation that had occurred between a 54-year-old resident of Springfield, New Jersey and a 52-year-old resident of Queens Village, New York. Minor injuries were reported as a result of this incident, however, neither party wished to pursue criminal complaints at this time.
On Saturday, September 11, 2021, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a 47-year-old Manalapan resident reported receiving harassing text messages from a moving company. No complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolman Morgan Joiner handled the report.
On Saturday, September 11, 2021, at approximately 8:53 p.m. a 42-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported being harassed by a 44-year-old South Plainfield resident. No complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolman James Guarino handled the report.
On Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 4:10 p.m., a 19-year-old Monroe Township resident reported that unknown male actors attempted to use a counterfeit $100 for a $10 transaction at the Englishtown Flea Market, located at 90 Wilson Avenue in Manalapan. The subjects then fled the area in a dark colored sedan. Patrolman Matthew Meyler took the report, which is pending further
investigation.
On Friday, September 10, 2021, at 2:11 p.m., a 32-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor(s) forced entry into the victim’s vehicle while it was parked at a Woodward Road residence during the overnight hours, causing approximately $400 worth of damage to the vehicle. There were no items reported stolen. Patrolman Douglas Zike took the report, which is pending further investigation.
On Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 4:03 p.m., a 64-year-old Manalapan resident reported that a 63-year-old Manalapan resident was ordering food and sending it to an Amberly Drive residence. No complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolman Adam Sosnowski took the report.
On Thursday, September 9, 2021, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Ernest Ramsey, a 60-year-old, married, male resident of Neptune, who is employed as a carpet installer, was arrested by the Neptune Police Department regarding a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000. Patrolman Jason Vigneualt responded and took custody of Mr. Ramsey, who was subsequently transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail.
On Thursday, September 9, 2021, at approximately 12:13 a.m., a 38-year-old resident of New Egypt reported that an unknown actor had damaged a vending machine at a business located on Monmouth Road in Manalapan. The suspect was described as wearing a long sleeve gray shirt, black pants, black shoes, white gloves, a black face covering, and glasses. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, please contact the Manalapan Township Police Department at 732-446-4300. Patrolman Sean McCarthy took the report, which is pending further investigation.
On Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at approximately 10:30 a.m., employees of the Yorktown Shell Service Station, located at 247 Gordon’s Corner Road in Manalapan, reported a $56 theft of gasoline after the credit card used for the purchase was declined. The suspect left the area prior to being approached by the employee of the business. Patrol Officer Jean Letts took the report.
On Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at approximately 10:00 a.m., a 75-year-old Manalapan resident reported that unknown actors attempted to gain access to the victim’s bank account. No monetary loss was reported as a result of this incident. Patrolman Bart Mattaliano handled the report.
On Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at approximately 12:00 p.m., a 55-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that unknown actors used the victim’s credit card information to make two online purchases. Patrolman Jeff Emslie handled the report.
On Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at approximately 9:58 a.m., an employee of AT&T Wireless reported that an unknown actor(s) unlawfully entered and removed property valued at $5,740 from a Franklin Lane utility area. This incident occurred sometime between July 26, 2021 and September 8, 2021. Patrolman Reginald Grant handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
