Bocce Court Coming To Hazlet In September

The court will be open to the public but the S.T.A.R.S Foundation hopes to host a Special Olympics tournament.

Hazlet Township will benefit from a new bocce court outside Town Hall soon, as the project comes to a close.

In the next two to three weeks, thanks to the S.T.A.R.S Foundation in Hazlet, a bocce ball court will be unveiled.

Andy Bace, Trustee of S.T.A.R.S, said the organization is responsible for raising the money and building the court with the help of volunteers. Home Depot donated money and some of its employees will volunteer in the next couple of weeks to finish the landscaping.

The court will be open to the public, but S.T.A.R.S hopes to hold a Special Olympics bocce tournament for Monmouth and Ocean County kids soon.

"It should work out rather well," Bace said.
