Chabad Jewish Center Set For Holmdel Planning Board Meeting

HOLMDEL, NJ — The Holmdel Planning Board is set to hear a proposal to approve building plans for a Chabad Jewish Center of BCC at a board meeting on Tuesday.

According to the meeting agenda, the applicant is seeking preliminary and major site plan approval to build the center on 816 Holmdel Road.

The plan consists of a 15,053-square-foot house of worship building alongside a 5,129-square-foot parsonage/Rabbi’s residence with related site improvements.

According to an Environmental Impact Report for the proposed center, the development — including a house of worship building, single-family residence, parking stalls and driveway — would occupy 2.359 acres of the site.

Open space, including stormwater management basins, steep slopes, and undisturbed wetland and upland forest, would occupy the remaining 7.009 acres.

Water, sewer, cable, electric and natural gas services are currently available to the site from existing lines in Holmdel Road, the report said.
