Why are you seeking elective office?
Because I believe Holmdel needs to be in the hands of people who are fiscal conservatives who can ensure to keep taxes low, adequately consider all community impact issues and then vote on core matters that help improve the quality of life in Holmdel at a lower cost to the community.
Why should you be elected over other candidates?
I am the only candidate who is a fiscal conservative, supports the current open space initiative and is for a clean and transparent government with no backroom deals. I am the only candidate who has not collected any money from developers or professionals. I am also the only candidate who supports all three of Mayor Greg Buontempo's three key initiatives, supported by deputy mayor Weber and committeeman Sathana.
What is the most important issue facing the Holmdel community and what are
you planning to do about it?
The enormous debt we have accumulated and, as a result, the pressure to keep taxes low. I plan to lower our debt in the coming years by not taking on more than $2 to $3 million of debt annually. I plan to keep our spending as low as possible. I plan to look for opportunities for other revenue without impacting our quality of life.
What are other important issues you are running on?
Transparency and clean government, keep taxes flat, preserve open space and commit open land ROSI, identify shared services programs to lower operation cost, lower our debt cost, evaluate recreational needs for all children and review bike safety, support renewable energy while keeping energy rates low.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I am an Investment professional and have studied Finance at Wharton and at
Western Michigan University.
Is there anything else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I come from a family of professionals who are similarly dedicated to public service, academia, and business, with members including a state police chief and several barristers. My mother was a leading women’s rights lawyer who was co-nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize; I am against all forms of racism.
