HAZLET, NJ — Expected bad weather Saturday has postponed the Faith & Blue Community Gardening Day at the Cullen Center to May 6, from 9 a.m. to noon.

You can RSVP for that date, which so far seems to have more cooperative weather, at this link: https://hazletpd.seamlessdocs.com/f/Community_Gardening_Day. April 29th was the original date.

Sponsored by the Home Depot of Hazlet, the Earth Day event is supported by the Hazlet Police Department and Hazlet Bible Church. Members of the community can join police as they plant flowers at the James J. Cullen Center, 1776 Union Ave.

Flowers will be provided, as will some tools, but the public can bring their own tools, too.

Police Chaplain Pastor Barry Mulligan and the Hazlet Recreation Department will be on hand at the light breakfast, followed with a little hands-on work to beautify the Cullen Center with flowers donated by The Home Depot, according to the Hazlet Police Department.

The Faith & Blue premise sees law enforcement and faith institutions, both pillars of community life, as organizations that can work together to help communities thrive, police say.
