Hazlet Police Alert Residents To Attempted B&E

A weekend attempt by two men to break into a house in Hazlet has prompted an advisory from police.

HAZLET, NJ — A report that two men were attempting to enter a home this past weekend has prompted police to issue an alert to residents.

When the incident was reported, a white Hyundai sedan had dropped off the two men near a home on Colby Lane, in the Fleetwood Park section of town, police said.

The two attempted to break into the home, but the homeowner was able to scare them off via a security camera before any entry was made, police said.

The two fled the scene and a perimeter to search for them was set up, using a K9 track and the Holmdel Police Department’s drone, police said.

The men were not located, and the vehicle they were dropped off in fled toward the Garden State Parkway, police said.

Police say if residents see anyone matching the clothing description in the above image to contact police - but to not approach anyone.

Also, residents should ensure vehicles and homes are locked, even if at home, police advised.
