Holmdel Board Of Education Announces New Superintendent
The new superintendent is expected to start in April, according to a statement sent by the board in December.

HOLMDEL, NJ — After much anticipation, the new superintendent of schools for the Holmdel Township School District has been announced.
J. Scott Cascone will take over the role that was left vacant after Robert McGarry resigned in May 2020. Interim superintendent LeRoy Seitz resigned in December when it was announced that the board had selected a new superintendent.
Village School principal Arthur Howard was appointed acting superintendent, effective immediately, at the last board meeting. He will stay in this role until Cascone starts in April.

"He successfully led a 42-member team, managed a $180 million dollar operating budget in a district with 11 schools, 1,300 employees, and 6,800 students," the board said in a statement.
Before that, Cascone was executive director of academics for Old Bridge Township Public Schools and was a high school principal at Westwood Regional.
"Dr. Cascone also has extensive experience working in department, building, and central office positions that have equipped him with practical and applicable knowledge in key areas like governance, finance, curriculum, and programming," the board said.

Board President Elizabeth Urbanski said that Cascone was qualified to lead Holmdel Schools.
"Becoming the new chief administrator for a high-performing school district, like Holmdel, brings with it a certain set of elevated expectations," Urbanski said. "Once we had the opportunity to meet with and interview Dr. Cascone, it became immediately clear that he had the knowledge, experience, and passion for educational excellence needed to meet those expectations."
The board announced the search process for a new superintendent in October.
