Holmdel Committee Approves $4 Million Capital Budget
The committee approved a $1.2 million budget for police and and public works.

Expenses are high in Holmdel, after the Township Committee approved $4 million in capital expenses for four projects, including infrastructure.
The committee approved a $1.2 million for police and public works, as well as $2.8 million for capital improvements of sewers and roads.
“We have got to stop spending money. I’m going to have a heart attack,” Deputy Mayor Eric Hinds jokingly said according to The Independent. “I’m not going to approve another expenditure tonight, let the record show.”

The DPW budget includes new dump trucks, some 20 years old, a debri-collection truck, a front-end loader and maintenance equipment.
Holmdel Police will get five new vehicles and new car data terminals for the department, as well as two dash-mounted cameras, according to The Independent.

Funding will come from the Monmouth County Improvement Fund, using the county AAA bond rating to get lower rates for townships.
