Holmdel Community Gathers To Commemorate 9/11
On the 23rd anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, community members left flowers and candles at the Holmdel "Open Hands" Memorial.

HOLMDEL, NJ — On the 23rd anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Holmdel community members came together to honor those lost by leaving flowers and candles at the Town Hall "Open Hands" Memorial.
The memorial was created by Holmdel artist Kyle Galante, who was moved to craft the sculpture following the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
On Wednesday morning, Holmdel Mayor Rocco Impreveduto, Deputy Mayor Foster, Committeewoman LaMountain and Committeeman Romano visited the memorial to pay their respects and say a prayer of remembrance.

"This week, as we should do every week, we should pause to think about and be grateful for all of those police officers, firefighters, EMTs, military members, and other first responders who put their lives on the line to ensure that we all remain safe, healthy, and free," Impreveduto said at a Township Committee meeting Tuesday night.
On Wednesday, the community remembered Holmdel residents who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001, as well as the immediate family members of those who died.
