
It was a pretty good start to the basketball seasons for the Holmdel High School girls and boys basketball teams.
The Holmdel girls team won the Bayshore Holiday Championship with a 47-35 win over Middletown South, according to nj.com. Leading the way was Mia Ehling, with 12 points and five rebounds.
The boys put on a strong showing in the Butch Kowal Tournament, losing in the consolation round to union, 49 to 55, according to nj.com. Gerard Nocera lead the squad with 15 points, followed by John Miller and Luke Mayell with 6 points each.
