Holmdel Man Faces 12 Drug Charges in Hazlet
Charges include distribution of drugs in a school zone.

A Holmdel man was indicted last week on 12 drug charges in Monmouth County, including distribution in a Hazlet school zone.
Magdy Samaan, 35 was charged by a county jury along with a Middletown woman on possession and distribution charges. Samaan was arrested in February after allegedly distributing drugs in Keyport, Matawan and Hazlet.
The arrest warrant indicated Samaan was allegedly in possession of heroin, and attempted to sell imitation drugs to an undercover detective near Baytul-Iman Academy on more than one occasion last July.
Miriam Suryil, 26 of Middletown was indicted on one charge of intent to distribute and one charge of drug possession after also allegedly attempting to sell drugs to an undercover officer in July of last year.
The jury's vote to indict on Monday is a formal charge, not a conviction. A defendant is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
