Holmdel's Police Youth Academy Applications Are Due Monday

Want to learn about investigation techniques, K-9s and more? Consider a week at the Holmdel Police Youth Academy. Applications due May 15.

HOLMDEL, NJ — The last day to to turn in applications and photo waivers for the Holmdel Township Police Department's Police Youth Academy is this Monday, May 15.

The program runs from Aug. 7 to 11, for ages 9 and 10; and Aug. 14 to Aug. 18 for ages 11 and 12. It runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the sessions.

  • Military etiquette - rill and ceremony
  • Handcuffing techniques
  • Firearms safety
  • Police canine interaction
  • Basic criminal investigation
  • Self-defense
  • First aid and fire safety
  • Water safety

The cost is $145 per student, which will include lunch each day, shirts, hats and necessary materials. Participants much wear khaki shorts or pants and sneakers.
