Letter to the Editor: Resident Arrested on Drug Charges Apologizes to Hazlet Community
A Hazlet man wrote to Patch, to address the members of his community and apologize for mistakes he has made.

Patch ran a story on November 11 about a 21-year-old Hazlet man, John W. Large, who was arrested by Hazlet police on November 6 for allegedly being in possession of drugs, with intent to distribute. Large contacted Patch and requested the opportunity to address the public while his case is being handled within the court system:
Dear Hazlet Residents,
My name is John W. Large, and I want everyone to know that I am truly sorry for what I have done. There are some things I want to clear up about my arrest: I was arrested coming out of the Post Office, and not on the grounds of a school. I am not a drug dealer- just someone who used extremely poor judgment regarding obtaining drugs via the mail. My actions were detrimental to my family and my community and I realize now how selfish I was.

Please know that my plan is to get the help that I need, that will help me change and become a better person who can be trusted and relied upon. Whatever the judicial systems deems my punishment should be, I will adhere to it and take responsibility for my actions. My hope and prayer is that I can turn this terrible mistake in my life into something positive. This can be done by talking to young people in my community who might be making the same mistakes that I was and let them know what the consequences of their actions can lead to.
Thank you for the opportunity to share in my own words what I am going through.
