HOLMDEL, NJ —Holmdel Fire & Rescue Co. #2 is inviting the public to a "wetdown" Saturday, Aug. 26, to celebrate the fire department's new 2023 Pierce Enforcer 18-90 ladder truck.
"This truck will serve the township of Holmdel for many years to come," the fire company has said.
The public can see the truck at the upcoming wetdown from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the firehouse at 12 Crawfords Corner Road, said Randy Rauscher, secretary of the fire company.

The ladder truck was delivered late in May, and volunteers have been receiving training on the operation of the new truck by the manufacturer.
The truck is equipped with a 100-foot, mid-mount tower ladder, the township said. The township said the cost of the truck was $1.4 million.
Rauscher said the fire company is always looking for volunteers and urged people to step forward to become part of the company.
The fire company open house is a good place to interact with the volunteers, as well as to have a close-up look at the new truck.
