No Independents File In Holmdel; Candidates Set For November Race
The Holmdel Republican and Democratic primaries were uncontested this past Tuesday. Here are candidates and latest vote totals.

HOLMDEL, NJ — The candidates for the November election for Holmdel Township Committee are set after uncontested primaries Tuesday.
No Independents filed to run in the Township Committee race, according to the Monmouth County Clerk's office. Independent candidates had to file before Primary Day.
Last year, there was a challenge to the Republican majority by two Independent candidates in the November election.

Republican Committeeman and former Mayor Gregory Buontempo is not seeking re-election this year, as he said in an interview last month.
Here are the Holmdel candidates for local office, including current Mayor DJ Luccarelli, and their unofficial vote totals as of Friday in the June 6 primary:

Holmdel Township Committee:
- Domenico "DJ" Luccarelli (R) Monmouth County Republican Organization: 509
- Joseph Romano (R) Monmouth County Republican Organization: 503
- Kathleen D. Bauer (D) Monmouth County Democrats: 294
- No Petition Filed (D)
Bauer is the only Democrat who filed for the two open spots on the Township Committee.
There were seven write-in candidates for the Republican primary, 26 for the Democratic primary.
Apart from local candidates, Holmdel residents also will vote for state Legislature and County Commissioner offices.
The primaries were uncontested, but here is the lineup for November, with total county results:
Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners: Full term, vote for two:
- Erik Anderson (R) Monmouth County Republican Organization: 15,287
- Ross Licitra (R) Monmouth County Republican Organization: 15,206
- Alison DeNoia (D) Monmouth County Democrats: 16,641
- Arthur Schlossbach (D) Monmouth County Democrats: 16,253
State Senate 13th Legislative District: Full term, vote for one:
- Declan O'Scanlon (R) Monmouth County Republican Organization: 6,395
- Lucille LoSapio (D) Monmouth County Democrats: 5,190
General Assembly 13th Legislative District: Full term, vote for two:
- Gerard Scharfenberger (R) Monmouth County Republican Organization: 6,237
- Victoria A. Flynn (R) Monmouth County Republican Organization: 6,273
- Danielle Mastropiero (D) Monmouth County Democrats: 5,172
- No Petition Filed (D)
The total voter turnout was 11.45 percent of registered voters in the primary in Monmouth County. Ballots cast were 33,788 of 295,193 registered voters, according to Monmouth County Votes.
