Obituary: John Covello, 79 of Holmdel

John worked at the Ball Glass Company for over 40 years.

John Covello, 79, of Holmdel, (formerly of Bayonne), passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 8, 1933 to Domenick & Mary Covello. John worked at the Ball Glass Company for over 40 years.

John is survived by his wife of 58 years, Concetta (nee Scerbo); and four loving children, Donna Covello of Bayonne, John Covello and wife Bernadette of Brick, Lisa Covello of Bayonne, and Mary Cherchio and husband Mark of Holmdel, as well by his five cherished grandchildren, Deanna and Johnny Covello, Alexa, Olivia and Ava Cherchio. John is also survived by his brothers, Anthony Covello, Albert Covello, and Vincent Covello; and his sister, Carmella Toleno and also survived by many nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his brothers, Joseph Covello, Stephen Covello, and sisters, Mary Ferrarra, Anna Ciabattaro, and Francis Ferraris.

John reposed from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home, 1735 Route 35 North, Middletown.

Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18 at St.Catharine's Church, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
