Holmdel Police DWI Checkpoint Yields Arrest of Fugitive, Among Others
Holmdel Police ran a DWI checkpoint Friday night into Saturday morning, and several drivers were arrested on a variety of charges.

Holmdel Township Police yielded several arrests after setting up a checkpoint over the weekend on Route 35, police are reporting.
The DWI checkpoint, conducted with Monmouth County DWI Task Force members, was set up on Route 35 southbound, with drivers who were suspect directed into the parking lot of Dearborn Farms. The checkpoint ran between 11:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14 and 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, according to Holmdel Police Lt. Keith Cannata.
Numerous cars passed through the checkpoint, and three arrests were made, according to Cannata.

The first arrest was a 20-year-old Spring Lake resident, Cody Salmons, who was discovered for be a Fugitive from Justice out of Indiana, on an active stalking warrant. Salmons was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institute on $50,000 bail pending extradition.
The second arrest was Corey Nathaniel, age 36, from Middletown, who was charged with DWI and Resisting Arrest. Nathaniel was later released to a friend, according to Lt. Cannata.

The third arrest was Tyrone Finch, age 29, of Keyport, who was found to be driving with a suspended license. Finch was then charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, as well as Driving While Suspended. Finch was also found to have had an active warrant out of Hazlet Township. He posted bail and was later released, according to Lt. Cannata.
An arrest is not a conviction, and every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.
