Prosecutor: Hazlet Community Is Not In Danger After Suspected Murder-Suicide
Authorities say there is no danger after two people were found dead Saturday night in the township.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Hazlet Township Police Department have released statements reassuring residents that there is no danger to the community after two people were found dead in a township home on Saturday night, and one of the deaths was ruled a homicide.
Charles Webster, spokesman for the prosecutor’s office, said authorities believe the case is that of a murder-suicide, after the female victim’s death was ruled a homicide by “manual asphyxiation,” or strangulation.
The second body found in the Peter Place home is a male, and his death has not been ruled a homicide. According to Webster, the cause of death for the male victim is still to be determined, “pending further study.”

Authorities have not released the relationship between the two, but said that they both lived in the residence they were found in.
