Reponse to Letter to the Editor: Why Change Something That is Working for Holmdel?
Yesterday, a Letter to the Editor was published urging Holmdel residents to consider change this coming election. Today, a reader's response

On Monday, a longtime Holmdel resident and former Planning Board member sent in his opinion in a Letter to the Editor, on why Holmdel voters should consider change when choosing their next town committee this November. Today, a reader responds, on why the Letter to the Editor is ”erroneous”, and how the current committee is running Holmdel the way it should be.
Over the past couple of months, readers have been subjected to a number of letters to the editor regarding the leadership of the Republican-led Township Committee.
There are so many erroneous and misleading comments in these letters that one must wonder if the writers are purposely misleading the voters of Holmdel or are just detached from reality.

The writers have noted that the pilot agreement for the Lucent property will deprive our schools of tax dollars. This is false; the building has no impact on the school system.
They claim that the senior units can be converted to single-family use; that also is false. The reality is that they are deed-restricted and cannot be converted to single family (non-senior) housing.

They try to scare us and claim that the Lucent property will create an unknown low-income housing impact. We already know the impact, and it is largely satisfied by the assisted-living component of the plan. But I suspect the writers are already aware of this.
The Democrats have no plan, no vision, and no direction, so they choose to distort the facts.
Mayor Pat Impreveduto and Committeeman Greg Buontempo, the Republican incumbents seeking re-election, understand that leadership does matter. Their record is one of success, one that protects the bucolic nature of Holmdel and provides for financial stability.
They are proud of their record and proud of the community they continue to make the best place to raise a family. Check out their record and join the conversation atwww.holmdelrepublicanparty.com.
