HAZLET, NJ — Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority is performing work this week in the township to replace a sanitary sewer pipeline in the Beers Street School area.

The work will take place in an easement area off of Briscoe Terrace and the Beer Street School ballfield and is a "proactive" project to replace a pipeline that is nearing the end of its life expectancy. The new pipeline should provide over 50 years of uninterrupted service to residents, the authority said.
To mitigate noise, the contractors will use a horizontal directional drill and sound barriers will be placed around all work areas on each side of the drilling activities.

The work will take place during the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., six days a week, for up to two months, the authority said. Specific drilling activities may extend for longer hours.
Once drilling is complete, additional site work will take place during the Spring of 2024 to complete the project, the authority said.
The contractor's site superintendent and BRSA's Consulting Engineer will be on-site at all times. The contractor for this project is Dulaine Contracting, Inc. of Gladstone. The engineer for this project is PS&S of Wall.
