Teachers, Educational Staff Of The Year Named In Holmdel

The Governor's Educator of the Year Program has recognized eight professionals in the Holmdel school district.

HOLMDEL, NJ — Each year through the Governor’s Educator of the Year Program, New Jersey recognizes exceptional and devoted classroom teachers and educational service professionals.

This year, the Holmdel school district says it is "proud to join with students, school employees and parents throughout the district in congratulating Holmdel’s 2022-23 Teachers and Education Service Professionals of the Year."

"These individuals not only represent the hard work and commitment of the educators in our district, but also the reason why Holmdel is arguably the best of the best in the world of education," the district said in a news release.

Here are the teachers and staff recognized by the program:

Village School

  • Kristen Savare: Second-grade teacher
  • Marie Wagner: Administrative assistant to the principal

Indian Hill School

  • Stephanie Gish: Fourth-grade teacher
  • Suzanne McDevitt: School psychologist

Satz School

  • Maurice Bell: Social Studies teacher
  • Donna Russoniello: Administrative assistant to the assistant principal

Holmdel High School

  • Kim Herthel: History teacher
  • Danielle Proscia: Literacy coach

"We congratulate them on this well-earned and well-deserved recognition, and salute their dedication to the profession and to the students and families of Holmdel," the district said.

They will be recognized by the district at the next Board of Education meeting on Dec. 14.
