The David Dubois Organ Competition was established in 2023 to encourage the playing of the organ by students at the high school level. The competition will take place in Gill Memorial Chapel on the Rider University campus in Lawrenceville, NJ, on the 1969 Casavant Frères organ (organ specifications).
Eligibility
The competition is open to current high school students who have been studying the organ for at least one year, as well as to students currently engaged in undergraduate organ study interested in transferring to Rider University.
Requirements
- Entrants must appear in-person on January 31, 2026.
- Entrants will play one piece by J.S. Bach (or a contemporary), and one other piece from the 19th-21st Century.
- High school seniors and undergraduate transfer students must also apply for admission to Westminster Choir College of Rider University in the Bachelor of Arts in Music (Organ Primary) degree program, or the Bachelor of Music in Music Education (Organ Primary) degree program.
