Wildfire At 120 Acres In Livingston, Structures Threatened

Several roads remain closed in the area as firefighters from Livingston and the New Jersey Forest Fire Service fight the fire.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A wildfire burning near Route 10 in Livingston expanded to 120 acres Saturday, threatening some structures and leaving closed multiple roads, officials said.

The fire burning in the area near Route 10 and Eisenhower Parkway was 60 percent contained, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service said in an update.

"When full containment is achieved the fire is expected to be approximately 190 acres," the service said.

The number of structures threatened had been reduced from 48 to 10, and the evacuations of six businesses earlier in the evening were no longer necessary, forest fire service officials said.

Several roads remained closed, including Naylon Avenue; Dorsa Avenue, and Industrial Parkway. Eisenhower Parkway southbound was closed but northbound had reopened. Route 10 had been reopened as well, officials said.

The forest fire service said it was providing 15 engines and 45 firefighters to assist the Livingston Fire Company.
