The cub was spotted lumbering through residents' backyards during the morning and early afternoon, said Livingston Police. The bear then made its way up toward Livingston High School and St. Philomena's Church.

Livingston Police called in officials from the Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Fish and Wildlife, who said the young bear would leave on its own.
