Burglar Sneaks Into Livingston Mall, Steals 76 Pairs Of Glasses: PD

Someone forced their way into a store in the mall during the overnight hours, Livingston police said.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A burglar snuck into a store in the Livingston Mall last week and stole thousands of dollars-worth of merchandise, authorities say.

According to the Livingston Police Department, officers responded to the LensCrafters inside the mall at 9:13 a.m. on March 25 after getting a report about a burglary.

Store management told officers that an interior metal door was bent, and it appears that the suspect or suspects forced their way into the store during the overnight hours.

The proceeds of the burglary were 76 pairs of glasses: totaling a loss of $28,600, authorities told Patch.

A police investigation continues, authorities said Tuesday.

MALL UPDATE

Many local residents have found themselves pining for the glory days of the Livingston Mall, which is located at 112 Eisenhower Parkway. In recent years, the mall has lost stores and shoppers, with one visitor comparing the experience to entering the set of a post-apocalyptic movie.
