Community Pool Party Unites Special Needs Families In Livingston
Families enjoyed the chance to connect with old friends – and meet new ones.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — A pool party for people with disabilities and their families sparked some serious fun – and community connection – in Livingston.
The Livingston Advisory Committee for Disabilities (LACD) recently held its fourth annual pool party at the Meryvn VT Haines Memorial pool, welcoming more than 80 children and adults with special needs and their families.
Guests enjoyed pizza, drinks, fruit, cookies, and snacks before diving into the pool and outdoor activities. Volunteers played games with attendees, including jump rope, bubbles and tag, while families enjoyed the chance to connect with old friends – and meet new ones.

Livingston Town Council member Michael Vieira and local police officer Joy Klapal attended the event to show their support for inclusive community programs. Volunteers from the Livingston High School Key Club and My Circle of Friends, a student-led volunteer organization, joined committee members to help make the day a success.
“We are so grateful to everyone who joined us—our guests, volunteers, and supporters—who made this celebration possible,” LACD chair Bob Gebroe said.
