Free Blood Pressure Screenings In Livingston At Upcoming Clinic

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston Health Department will hold a free blood pressure screening clinic for local residents on Wednesday, July 30.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon in the First Aid Room on the first floor of the Livingston Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue.

The clinic is free of charge to Livingston residents. Appointments and walk-ins are welcome.

According to a municipal advisory, high blood pressure is known as “the silent killer” because it has no symptoms of its own, but it can dramatically increase one’s risk of developing heart disease or stroke. Many people with high blood pressure don’t even know they have it; the signs and symptoms are often misunderstood. High blood pressure can be managed effectively though lifestyle changes and, when necessary, medication.
