How To Watch Final NJ Governor Debate Of 2025: Sherrill vs. Ciattarelli
Under New Jersey law, gubernatorial candidates who qualify for public funding must participate in two general election debates.
New Jersey governor candidates Mikie Sherrill and Jack Ciattarelli will face off in their final debate before the 2025 election on Wednesday evening.
The second of two gubernatorial debates will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 8 at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center. The event is closed to the public.
A live broadcast of the debate will take place on both WABC and WPVI. There will be simultaneous streaming on all digital platforms, including websites (abc7ny.com and 6abc.com respectively), mobile apps and streaming channels for both stations as well as ABC News LIVE.

WXTV Univision 41 New York will livestream the debate with Spanish captioning. Additionally, the debate will stream nationwide in Spanish exclusively on VIX 24/7, simulcast on Q-Buena 1280 AM, and be available online at Noticias 41’s website.
Anchors Tamala Edwards of WPVI-TV Philadelphia and Bill Ritter of WABC-TV New York will ask questions and moderate the debate, with Noticias 41 anchor Ana Patricia Candiani joining the debate panel virtually.

Sponsors of Wednesday’s debate include ABC7, WABC-TV, New York, 6ABC, WPVI-TV, Philadelphia, WXTV Univision 41 New York, Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning & Public Policy, Rutgers University.

Ciattarelli, the Republican nominee, and Sherrill, the Democratic nominee, were the last ones standing after a competitive primary election on June 10. Gov. Phil Murphy, a Democrat, is term-limited and can’t run again this year.

Third-party and independent candidates running in the 2025 election include Vic Kaplan (Libertarian Party) and Joanne Kuniansky (Socialist Workers Party). Candidates running write-in campaigns include Lily Benavides (Green Party) and Darrell Armstrong (independent).

The New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission voted to choose sponsors for the debates in July.
