Livingston Gym ‘Back In Action’ After Car Crashes Into Building

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A gym in Livingston is back in action after a car crashed into the building earlier this week.
A vehicle crashed into a wall of the Crunch Fitness at 585 West Mt. Pleasant Avenue on Wednesday, according to a social media post from All State Fire Incident Network.
Photos taken at the scene show the car inside the building with its front end smashed and covered in debris.

According to a preliminary police investigation, the crash took place when an elderly female driver hit the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal, causing the vehicle to accelerate into the building, authorities said.
It is believed that nobody suffered any serious injuries, a police spokesperson told Patch. No additional information was immediately available.

Crunch Livingston posted a message after the crash, reporting that the center would temporarily close due to “structural damage in our plaza.”
“We plan to reopen as soon as possible and will send an update as soon as we are able to resume workouts,” the company stated.
Membership was temporarily extended to other local Crunch Fitness centers in the area, the company reported.
“We’re back in action,” Crunch Livingston updated its members on Friday morning. “Feel free to hit the gym for a workout!”
