Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in the United States, which is why February is recognized as American Heart Month and the first Friday of February is National Wear Red Day. The day’s goal is to raise awareness about heart disease in women and encourage women to make lifestyle changes that will help lower their risk of heart disease. Since National Wear Red Day began about 15 years ago, the event has educated and encouraged women to make at least one change that will reduce their risk of heart disease.
The Township of Livingston will show its support for heart health by hosting its annual Go Red for Heart Health event on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The event will be in the lobby on the first floor of Livingston Town Hall, 357 South Livingston Avenue.
