Livingston Holiday Garbage, Recycling, Christmas Tree Pickup
Here's everything you need to know about trash pickup, holiday schedule changes, and what to do with Christmas trees, metal and bulk items.

Cleaning out the house in anticipation of holiday guests? Wondering where you can dispose of that Christmas tree? Those questions are answered in the Township of Livingston’s Holiday Recycling and Garbage Collection schedule.
Planning on asking Santa for a nice new couch or arm chair? Keep in mind that bulk items will be picked up on your last regularly scheduled garbage day of the month. However, if that day falls on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, your bulk items will be picked up on Dec. 22 instead.
Christmas Trees

Christmas trees left at the curb between Jan. 5 and Jan. 30 will be collected from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Township noted that Christmas trees must not be decorated or contain tinsel.
Metal Pickup

Metal items will be picked up on Dec. 30. Residents must register by 12 p.m. on Dec. 23 to have metal items picked up. To register, call 973-992-5000, ext. #5522.
Recycling and Garbage Pickup
There will be no garbage pickup on Christmas Day, Dec. 25 or New Year’s Day. Garbage will instead be picked up on the next regularly scheduled garbage day of the month.
Recycling will not be pickup on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, or New Year’s Day. Pickup will be moved forward one day. For the Christmas rescheduling: zone 4 will be picked up on Friday, Dec. 26, and zone 5 will be picked up on Saturday, Dec. 27. For the New Year’s rescheduling: zone 4 will be picked up on Jan. 2 and zone 5 will be picked up on Jan. 3.
