Livingston Home Burglarized On Christmas Eve: Police
An attempted burglary was reported nearby on the same night, Livingston police said.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — A home burglary took place in Livingston on Christmas Eve, and an attempted burglary was reported nearby on the same night, authorities say.
According to the Livingston Police Department, officers responded to a home on Cornell Drive at 8:07 p.m. after getting a report about a burglary.
The homeowners told police that they were only away from the residence for a couple of hours. When they returned, they saw that multiple rooms were ransacked and jewelry was missing.

The same suspect or suspects may have attempted a second burglary on Cornell Drive on the same evening, police noted:
“Investigating officers from the first burglary observed footprints in the snow that led them to a second residence where the screen door to a rear slider was cut, but the glass door was secured and locked. Per the homeowner’s statement, this attempt occurred around the same time as the first burglary.”
The Livingston Detective Bureau is investigating both incidents, police said.
