Livingston Homeowner Finds Masked Suspects Breaking Into Her Cars: PD

LPD: Four masked suspects tried to break into a pair of cars in Livingston, abandoning the attempt and fleeing from police officers.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Four masked suspects tried to break into a pair of cars in Livingston last week, abandoning the attempt and fleeing from police officers, authorities said.

According to the Livingston Police Department, officers responded to a Hearthstone Terrace residence around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 11.

The homeowner told officers that she saw four people in masks standing in her driveway and trying to break into her 2024 BMW X7 and 2024 Jeep Wagoneer. They were unsuccessful and fled the scene, she said.

Livingston officers soon found the suspects’ vehicle – a white BMW X3 that was stolen in Sea Girt. But when police tried to stop the car, it fled onto Route 280 East, authorities said.

The Livingston Detective Bureau continues to investigate the incident, authorities said Tuesday.
