Livingston Resident and Congress Candidate, Mark Dunec Endorsed By Assemblywoman Jasey

In this Letter to the Editor, Mila Jasey endorses Mark Dunec, lauding his support for New Jersey teachers and students, and early education.

To the Editor:

The education of America’s children is essential to their success as they strive to compete in a highly technical, global economy.

Sadly, our current representative has supported federal programs that have slashed funding for public education and dramatically increased unnecessary standardized testing. In this election, we have a chance to make sure that our representative will act in the best interest of our district’s children. That’s why I am supporting Mark Dunec for Congress.

Mark understands the importance of early education, supports expansion of high quality pre-school programs for every child and champions funding for after-school programs that keep kids safe from 3-6 p.m.

Mark wants students to be college and career ready when they graduate and able to attend affordable college or career training confident of their ability to repay their student loans. He supports tying loans to the Federal Reserve discount rate, which is currently less than 1% and will promote a National Community Service Plan that gives every student the chance to explore career paths.

Mark will fight to ensure that the best and brightest are attracted to the teaching profession, that they will be respected for their work and ultimately enjoy a secure retirement after a lifetime of public service.

As a member of three Education committees in the New Jersey Legislature, I know that Mark will be a tireless advocate in Congress for our public schools. To ensure the best for New Jersey’s students, vote for Mark Dunec for Congress on November 4th.

Sincerely,

Assemblywoman Mila M. Jasey

District 27
