Livingston Township May Name Recreation Field After Fallen Teen

Okner Field One may soon be Brendan Tevlin Memorial Field. The Council will vote on Monday.

The Livingston Township council is planning be renaming Okner Field One after Brendan Tevlin, the local teenager who was killed by a man seeking revenge for US military action in the Middle East.

The proposal follows a request from the Livingston Youth Sports Council. A resolution is being put to the township council for a vote on Monday, October 20.

The resolution for the renaming lists Tevlin’s volunteering with the Special Olympics, tutoring and mentorship to children with autism, and his membership in the National Honors Society.

“The township has lost a role model,” it reads.

Seton Hall Prep has also named a recreation field after Tevlin.
